Activities of ISRI Department of Ecology encompass studies on Sturgeon habitats in the Caspian Sea, Biology, distribution and migration, restoration of migratory and spawning grounds of Sturgeons. Identification and mass culture of phytoplankton, zooplankton and suitable benthic animals as live food for Sturgeon juveniles (fingerlings) are further activities of the department. Indeed, water physico-chemical analysis is part of Ecology department services to Sturgeon aquaculture activities of ISRI also private farms of Sturgeons whole the country.
