Since 1994, ISRI Genetics & Biotechnology Department (GBD) stablished by 3 laboratories (molecular genetics, cytogenetics and tissue culture, sperm cryopreservation).

ISRI-GBD carries out research and investigations on conservation and rehabilitation of genetic resources and facilitating increasing Sturgeon aquaculture potentials using techniques of genetic science/technology.
